During the Victorian period, women wear corsets that would shape their bodies into hourglasses. The corsets would make them the ideal woman for the best suitable man, but there were also dangers that came with the beauty. The corset squeezed the waistband inward, pishing the organs downward, sometimes leaving them unprotected. Because the corset was so popular in the 19th century, the women today wear them to slim their waist. One woman, by the name of Pixee Fox, removed six of her ribs and had surgery on her whole body, costing over $125,000, to give her the cartoon body she wanted. The cartoon character she mocked was also a slim-waisted female who had an S-shaped body. The S-shaped body was made by a tight corset that squeezed on the body, make the body contour into an S-shape.
